Oh Oma's apartment brings the vibes for sure! There's always coffee but usually she goes for her Caro cereal coffee or what she calls in Low German "prips" and then usually has a nice little cobbler dessert or some platz.
Such a lovely set of photos, Michael. It's the kind that makes you feel cozily wrapped up in a blanket, if that makes sense. Your oma's interior design game is strong, too. Also very sad to hear about the Balmoral food mart. I feel like lots of weird stuff happen at that intersection.
Aww thanks for saying that Tyler! Yes I try to have it be a nice little photo blanket that when I look back I feel wrapped up in so yes that does make sense. My Oma is just a fashion icon. At this point at 100 she pretty much has every style of the last 50 years so I guess she'll never go out of style (OMG did I just quote a Taylor Swift line un-ironically, fml). Also I suspect the reason her interior design game is so strong is that all of the stuff is from the house her and my Opa use to live in and they moved into that house and bought a lot of the furniture in the mid 90s so its all just really nice and classy stuff.
Yeah, the food mart at Balmoral and Young. It definitely was a weird spot and intersection. Sad to think because that it was such an old building (built in 1928) that you probably wouldn't be able to build something similar today because of modern zoning and things like that.
Omas apartment looks like somewhere Iād love to have a coffee and a piece of cake š°

You captured the light well for sure.
Haha, I remember Caro well from growing up in Germany. Never liked it myself but my Oma for sure had it.
