The wonder of life
This photo and the one above were taken as part of a new ongoing project of shooting different Winnipeg neighbourhoods.
Just had to take a photo of this empty Palatal Express on Sherbrook.
There were a couple of days when the wildfire smoke (from wildfires out west) was really bad.
JD! A buddy of mine who I got to know when he started working at Thom Bargen. Over the last half year he has been working on this community zine “A Friendly space” which features photos, poems, art, and recipes from all of his friends. The project was finally completed this month!
Visits with Oma in her apartment.
Langside. A continuation of my “Streets of West Broadway” photo series.
Biking home on a rainy Friday night and saw this sight at the intersection of Balmoral and Young. You can read the article here. RIP Young Food Mart. I use to live up the street and would frequent this place often.
I went back there the next day in the afternoon and the space was just rubble.
Live DJ at Bike Jam!
Bike Jam. A critical mass bike party. Basically a rave that moves throughout the city. I’ve been going to these for about a decade and they are how I fell in love with cycling and Winnipeg.
Vimy Ridge park in the evening light.
My partner doing watercolour.
It rained a lot this month, meaning a lot of puddles :)
All eyes on Rafah!
Downtown
My friend Louis’ studio! Louis is an amazing artist focusing specifically on textiles and photography. You can check out his work here!
A common sight in a lot of other North America cities, this section of Point Douglas is one of the very few spots in Winnipeg with an elevated highway.
Spence. Another “Streets of West Broadway” entry.
...
Balmoral. Another entry.

Such a lovely set of photos, Michael. It's the kind that makes you feel cozily wrapped up in a blanket, if that makes sense. Your oma's interior design game is strong, too. Also very sad to hear about the Balmoral food mart. I feel like lots of weird stuff happen at that intersection.
so calming. mmm moments
