This November marked the last month of my 20’s. Winnipeg’s winter is usually ushered in by a snow that blankets everything and stays until the end of April, but that never happened this month.
West End.
Ceasefire now!
Free Palestine.
The Snow that I thought would come and stay. As you can see in the next photos, it all left.
While I know so much obscure about Winnipeg, I only realized recently I don’t know the history of this house on broadway. Time to visit mhs.mb.ca
Free Palestine.
Surpised that I still made it out of the office in time to witness this sunset.
One thing I’m so happy is that I am back to having a downtown work commute.
Let the freeze begin
Sometimes the light is so good I have to pull aside on my bike and grab the shot.
A classic West Broadway shot
In summer I started to carry around an instax printer wherever i go which means candid shots like this I could take and then immediately print out shots for all three in the photo. Aww I miss working at TB with these guys.
My Oma, who turned 100 in July with my sister. She is an amazing woman who stills lives by herself, is such a bad ass. The best thing is when I ask her about what she remembers when she was 5, and then she just goes “ok well back in Russia…” and continues to demonstrate that she has a better memory despite her being 70 years my senior.
Alternative reality: A light rail train whizzes past the elevated rail, pulling into a busy Union station, full of light trail transit users, who make good use of an extensive light rail network that spans all across Winnipeg.

I'm so glad you're posting on here again Michael! It's funny how much we've haunted the same geographies in Winnipeg but never crossed paths until this year. I found out earlier today that last month was the first snow-free November in Edmonton since 1928! It got up to 13 while I was in Winnipeg and it's supposed to get up to 7 on Tuesday. But even in Winnipeg it was weird -- not as extreme but not like a normal Prairie November nonetheless. It's funny you mention imagining light rail for Winnipeg in the last photo - all I was thinking about when looking at some of these photos was how much Winnipeg looks like a real city, but doesn't really act like one. It has the bones, the vibe, the aesthetic in a way that Edmonton mostly doesn't. Edmonton is like when they try to upgrade a '70s suburb to a transit oriented development. It's Burnaby in the '90s on the Prairie. But at least it's trying, I suppose. Also your oma sounds like a badass!
