It’s funny seeing familiar photos that remind me of ones I’ve taken of the same places in Winnipeg. A friend said I should apply for the new Platform RFP but I don’t have a grasp on my photography in a way that is easily translatable into a project that can be readily consumed and digested.

Yes I'm sure there is definitely overlap with our photos! Especially if you stick to the core of the city. Oh yes the award! You should! But yes I understand that sometimes having to define and, as you say, translate how you approach photography or the ideas in your head, can be tricky.

Lovely pictures and I like how you’ve managed to make the cold look so warm - Finding those colours.

I recently did a trip from west to east coast of Canada and felt like it was difficult to convey how cold it was. Maybe it’s better to focus on the colours and making things seem less harsh

Hahaha I definitely tipped the white balance into the warmer tones so that definitely helped! Yeah it's tricky to convey things, when things are cold. The great thing about Winnipeg is the colder it gets, the sunnier it gets. Honestly some of my favourite days during winter are when it is super cold -25 or so, the sky is completely clear and everything is so bright (with the sun bouncing off the snow). The sun definitely also helps with giving it those nice tones. Although that is on the nice days. There are a lot of days where it is overcast and the snow is mixed with dirt and sand and everything looks gross.
